VCU Medical Center
Located in downtown Richmond, the VCU Medical Center, which is a Level 1 Trauma Center and ranked the No. 1 hospital in Richmond, is the main teaching facility of VCU Health.
The outpatient ophthalmology service is located on the fourth floor of the Nelson Clinic, and the pediatric and ocular genetics clinics are located in the Children’s Hospital of Richmond outpatient facility. While at the VCU Medical Center, residents also rotate with the Department of Neurology’s Division of Neuro-Ophthalmology.
Other Facilities
The VCU Department of Ophthalmology at MEDARVA Stony Point Surgery Center is an outpatient surgical center offering comprehensive evaluation, consultation, medical and surgical management for all diseases of the eye. Residents will be exposed to clinical and surgical care at this location.
VCU Department of Ophthalmology residents rotate in the VCU Department of Neuro-Ophthalmology at the VCU Health Neuroscience, Orthopaedic and Wellness Center.
The Lipstock LASIK and Cataract Center offers a full range of advanced eye care services. Residents participate in LASIK procedures and see post-operative patients with our LASIK specialist Kenneth Lipstock, M.D.
